PRIVACY POLICY

Your Privacy Matters to Us

This policy explains how Studio 10 Dance and Fitness collects, uses and protects your personal information, and your rights under UK data protection law.

Last updated: 14 June 2026

Studio 10 Dance and Fitness (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. We are a sole trader based in Felling, Gateshead, and we are the “data controller” responsible for your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

Studio 10 Dance and Fitness, Victoria Square, Felling, Gateshead, NE10 9LX.
Email: bookings@studio10felling.co.uk  ·  Phone/Text: 07818 087883.

2. The information we collect

  • Identity & contact details — your name, and for children’s classes the dancer’s name and age, plus parent/guardian name, email, phone and emergency contact.
  • Booking information — the classes you book, attendance and any notes you provide.
  • Health information — any medical conditions, injuries or allergies you choose to tell us so we can keep you or your child safe (see section 5).
  • Payment information — we take most payments in person; where paid online, card details are handled by our payment provider, not stored by us.
  • Photos & video — only where you have given consent (see section 5).
  • Website & cookie data — basic technical and usage information when you use our website (see section 11).

3. How we collect it

We collect information directly from you when you book a class through our online booking system, contact us, or speak to us in person. For children’s classes, information is provided by a parent or guardian.

4. Why we use it & our lawful bases

  • To manage your bookings and provide classes — lawful basis: performance of a contract.
  • To contact you about your bookings — contract / legitimate interests.
  • To keep participants safe and meet our duty of care (health, first aid, safeguarding) — legitimate interests, legal obligation and, for health data, your explicit consent.
  • To send occasional updates or offers — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations — legal obligation.

5. Health & special category data

Health information is “special category” data. We only collect what you choose to share to keep you or your child safe during physical activity, and we rely on your explicit consent and our duty of care. Photographs and video of classes are only taken and used (for example on social media) where you have given separate, specific consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

6. Children’s privacy

Where classes are for children, we collect personal information from a parent or guardian, who provides consent on the child’s behalf. We only collect what we need to deliver classes safely and we treat children’s data with particular care.

7. Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We share it only where necessary with: our online booking system provider; our website host; our payment provider; and, where there is a safeguarding or medical emergency, the emergency services or relevant authorities. These providers act on our instructions under appropriate data-protection terms.

8. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes above — typically for the period you attend classes and a reasonable time afterwards — and longer where required for legal, accounting or insurance reasons. We then securely delete it.

9. How we protect it

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep your information secure and limit access to those who need it to run our classes.

10. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • be informed about how we use your data;
  • access a copy of the data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased in certain circumstances;
  • restrict or object to our processing;
  • data portability; and
  • withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

11. Cookies

Our website uses a small number of cookies to function correctly and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page with the date it was last updated.

13. Contact us & complaints

If you have any questions, or wish to make a request about your data, contact us at bookings@studio10felling.co.uk or on 07818 087883.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
